Save Scouting! Admit LGBT boys and leaders!

This week, Boy Scouts of America is reviewing its policy which currently prohibits participation of gay and lesbian youth and leaders in the Scouting program.

The naked truth is that gay people have always been involved in Scouting; they just haven't been allowed to say so. (I'm an Eagle Scout and former Den Leader, Post Adviser, Committee Chair and counsel board member and the father of three Eagle Scouts...and I've been gay since birth).

It's time for Scouting to recognize that gays and Lesbians are an integral part of the Boy Scout movement and allow them to continue doing what they have always done...enriched and ennobled the lives of men and boys who participate in its program.

It's time for scouting's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy to be relegated to the same garbage heap of history as every other tenet that promotes or condones fear, misunderstanding, and hate.

Please share your hope that the Boy Scouts of America will finally adopt policy congruent with the organization's values by contacting BSA at the following link:
